Position

Gerrymandering

Gerrymandering happens when district lines are drawn for partisan gain. Party leaders draw lines based on your age, income, party affiliation, race and past voting habits; and they are very effective at it.

When party leaders pick voters, instead of the other way around, you loose. When party leaders draw lines for partisan gain, they create safe seats for incumbents, and you loose. When party leaders divide us based on our personal traits, they are contributing to a divide that is tearing us apart.

Restricting line drawing responsibility should rest with non partisan committees, not self interested party leaders. I can't stand unfair advantage. I can't stand gerrymandering.
